Since then, Leg Up Los Angeles has consistently addressed the seasonal needs of houseless individuals, orchestrating events that have delivered crucial support to thousands. With over 20,000 moments of assistance provided, our need-based distributions go beyond immediate aid, emphasizing a deep understanding of the diverse challenges faced by the unhoused. 🏠 Our Vision: NELO envisions the repurposing of a commercial space into a thriving Community Assistance Center. This space will be a catalyst for change, providing essential services, recycled goods, and sustenance to those in need. Our headquarters will not only serve as a hub for distribution but also as a creative space, fostering the production of advocacy content to reshape perceptions and create a more compassionate culture.
🌍 Project Goals:
- Guiding Paths to Stability: NELO aims to guide 200-400 residents annually towards stable employment, supportive housing, and necessary health treatments.
- Mass Impact Through Redistribution: Through sustainable redistribution programs, we aim to assist tens of thousands of citizens yearly and repurpose hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of otherwise wasted goods annually.
- Advocacy Through Art and Media: The NELO space will produce consistent, accessible content on homelessness, gentrification, and displacement through mediums like billboards, YouTube videos, art shows, and clothing.
- Cultural Transformation: Beyond tangible goals, NELO seeks to create a grassroots culture that is compassionate, malleable, and healing for everyone who walks through our doors.
